V&A – Victoria & Albert Museum London
Monday night last week I was at the V&A Museum in London as part of my literary book tour to promote my book; The Way We Wore: A Life in Clothes. If I’d known it would have been this much fun I’d have written a book ages ago!
Would you like a little look into the V&A evening? I’m not going to win any film awards with this creation but it will give you an idea (or a reminder if you were there – thank you so much for coming). If camera shake is not for you then this won’t be one to watch but for those of you who want to see it and have a glimpse then I do hope you will enjoy.
I’m talking about modelling in the 50s and how different it was from today – no internet, no iPads, no mobile phones, no wheelie bags, just a big heavy portfolio, Z cards & coins for the payphone with lots of walking everywhere ….. and this just for the off chance for a job!
Many things in this model’s life remain the same: good posture, good manners, always look on the bright side and smile.
I wish I had known earlier what fun a literary tour is – I would have written a book before and I’m thinking I must get started on the next book so I can keep doing it!
