Daphne has been in UK Lockdown since March. All around the world many of us have been isolating similarly in our separate homes. It has been a difficult, painful and scary time and we do hope that you have been doing well, staying healthy and coping as best you can. Possibly even finding some positives in this shocking pandemic.
As restrictions have begun to be loosened slightly, with gatherings of up to 6 people at a time now allowed here in the UK. With 2m (6ft) social distancing reducing down to 1m+ (3 ft+) it has come at just the right moment. it is time to celebrate Daphne’s 92nd Birthday. Celebrated in a much smaller way and restricted way than we would have planned just a few months earlier. This is the first time we’ve been able to be together in over three months and we thought we’d share it with you.
A small intimate occasion was the perfect way to celebrate being 92 in these times. Daphne with her three children celebrating in her conservatory and garden on a nice summer day. A delicious lunch which Daphne insisted on preparing herself and then Afternoon Tea with a beautiful chocolate cake – made by daughter Rose. Daphne was thrilled that her favourite photographer and friend Alistair Guy was able to pop by and join us. A fun few hours we had together. Sometimes it’s the simple things in life that are special!
What do you think of Daphne’s new headgear? This beautiful purple flower was a surprise present from daughter Rose. If Daphne had known she’d have put on an outfit to match we’re pretty sure. Saying that we think it looks just fine. Daphne, as you’d expect, makes it work and who cares about the Fashion Police when at 92 your looking as fabulous as this!
As you can see Daphne is doing well and adjusted very well to being at home and keeping herself active and busy there. She says that having grown up in the Second World War as an only child she is used to being on her own and making the best of things (Claire & Rose are very thankful that brother Mark is with her at this time).
Daphne can’t wait to be back modelling and discussions about work are beginning to happen so here’s hoping that she’ll be back in front of the camera soon.
How does a whole year or two come around so quickly? Daphne may be celebrating her 92nd and yet it feels like yesterday we were celebrating her 90th with a big party – 90 Years Young. We wonder when big celebrations will be held again and are so thankful that we were able to enjoy this glamourous event well before the world changed so much. How carefree we were with no inkling then of what would happen……
Everything is so up in the air at the moment so we don’t know when we will next be in touch. In the meantime please do take care of yourself and your loved ones and do not hesitate to get in contact if you have any questions or news to tell us. You can email us at:- firstname.lastname@example.org
